About macdaddyx4

When my friend LG3K asked me to participate in a fantasy sports blog he was starting, I jumped at the chance. We first met during a fantasy baseball league in 2005 where he bombarded me with pathetic trade offers. I took pity on him and we have been BFFs ever since. Fantasy sports will forever link us and we hope to continue the tradition here.

I have a bachelor’s degree in journalism, and I will use this blog to keep my writing skills sharp while I work outside of my field. I hope to take this new venture both seriously and casually; I’m not writing to impress ESPN but I’m also not writing to alienate people. I have some experience in sports blogging, but have always lost interest a few weeks in. Hopefully working together with LG3K will keep me going.

I am a fan of the Boston Red Sox and Green Bay Packers, so I am currently dealing with a lot of emotional distress when it comes to real-life sports. But when it comes to fantasy sports, I can’t wait for fantasy baseball to start. Want to know how I spent my Valentine’s Day last year? I was busy doing mock drafts, getting ready for actual drafts still a month and a half away.

I won two of my baseball leagues last season, and finished in second by one point in the other. There is nothing more thrilling than picking up twenty starting pitchers over the last three days of the season when the competition has already reached their 200-start limit and pulling ahead in wins, strikeouts, ERA, and WHIP. I hope to share that thrill with the readers of this blog.

My first fantasy prediction of the year? 49 year-old Jamie Moyer will win more games than Justin Verlander. Just kidding, but I seriously think Moyer has a shot at helping the Rockies out this season. The chances of him helping your fantasy baseball team? Nonexistent. Look for actual useful insight in the future.
